About

An Thanh Tùng

An Thanh Tùng believes a piece of health advice is worth following only if it stands up to the evidence.

Whether a claim comes from an advertisement, a viral post or advice so familiar that no one questions it anymore, the author starts with three questions: what does the research actually say, how far can that research be trusted, and where does our knowledge stop? A claim earns belief only once the evidence has been read in full, and only as far as that evidence allows.

The Your Body, Decoded series grew out of that habit. Each book is an honest search for the answer to a question many people ask themselves every day: reading the studies carefully, separating what is settled from what is still open, and putting it into plain words that anyone can use.

The aim is simple: to help readers spend less on empty promises, worry less about conflicting information, and know enough to make good choices for their own health and for the people they love.

How every book works

Every claim carries a label

Each piece of advice is graded by how strong the research behind it is, on the day it was last reviewed. You always know what is settled and what is still open.

  1. Strong evidence “A watch ECG cannot detect a heart attack or a stroke.” Is My Wearable Lying to Me?, Chapter 5
  2. Moderate evidence “Devices are poor at recognizing when you're awake, so they tend to overestimate sleep.” Is My Wearable Lying to Me?, Chapter 8
  3. Debated “Whether skin tone affects wrist heart rate is still unsettled.” Is My Wearable Lying to Me?, Chapter 2
  4. Unproven “Raising the HRV number on your device makes you healthier.” Is My Wearable Lying to Me?, Chapter 9
